Frequency converters, explained for facility managers
If you’ve ever imported equipment rated for 60Hz operation into a 50Hz grid, you’ve run into the reason frequency converters exist.
Most imported industrial and medical equipment is frequency-sensitive — motors run at the wrong speed, cooling fans underperform, and control timing drifts. A frequency converter corrects this at the source rather than asking every downstream device to tolerate the mismatch.
